Dharna was attended today by Socialist Front leader Haji Fahim Siddiqi and Mohammad Aafaaq who distributed post-murder photos of Maulana Khalid as banners and challenged Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav statement that Khalid died of natural causes and said if Akhilesh's claims are to be believed then he should explain the blood on the face and body of Maulana Khalid and the where the spots/marks on his body came from. Manch said of the way the state government silence
Manch said that as the
state government would not break its silence and is taking support of Muslim leaders and so-alled ulema, it would put up photos, posters and banners in the whole province so the people open their eyes to the illegal way in which Khalid Mujahid was murdered.Rihai Manch said that the media reports the government is planting in the news about its demand for a CBI enquiry was a farce and that it was clear that the government does not want to open its can of worms to the public, relying on Muslim SP leaders and fake ulema to hide the reality of Khalid's death.

The indefinite dharna was supported by human rights organization PUCL whose national secretary Kavita Srivastava said that the IB was targeting innocent Muslims from Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Darbhanga, Beed, Dharwad, Bhatkal including other small towns with a sizeable Muslim population in the
in the name of terrorism by discrediting Muslim youth and fueling polarization and communal tensions, isolating the already weak Muslim society.
Srivastava further said that RD Nimesh Commission report on Tariq-Khalid was the country's first report revealing the close nexus between the country's security agencies and the IB and its false implication of innocent Muslims in the name of terrorism. She said the SP's stress on not issuing the commissioned report exposes SP government's anti-Muslim policy. She termed its policy not samaajwaad but Modiwad.

Addressing the dharna, SIO President Ashfaq Sharif from Karnataka, said that the killing of Khalid Mujahid and not releasing the Nimesh commission report proves that not only did the regime breach its promise of Khalid's release but it was determined to kill Muslims. He said not only Khalid
Mujahid's murder
but 27 riots in a year were proof to it. The SIO
National secretary, Masheeuzzama, said the movement for Maulana Khalid's release whose innocence was proved by the Nimesh Commission report which the government is suppressing smacks of the government's involvement in the murder.
Front Muslim (Muslim Sangharsh Morcha)'s Aftab Khan and Abuzar said they welcomed Khalid's uncle, Zaheer Alam Falahi's decision to return the compensation given by the government and it was a slap on the face of the ulema brokering a deal for the SP government, reducing the issue to monetary compensation.

The dharna today condemned today the murder of Babudin son of  Mamroz by the police in one of the village's mosque in village Hatia, district Behsana, in Mathura.
They said it explained the anti-Muslim agenda of the guilty police officers and demanded a probe into the incident and sought compensation for the victim's family and the arrest of the guilty officers.
Yesterday, on the evening of May 29, intellectuals in Lucknow congregated at GPO Hazratganj for a candle light protest to demand the arrest of Khalid Mujahid's killers and the release of RD Nimesh Commission report to the public.

Lucknow, May 29, 2013 /

The Manch declared the returning of the compensation offered by SP Government sent by SP leader Parasnath Yadav, by martyr Khalid's uncle Zaheer Alam Falahi as a slap on SP and it's fake ulema's face.   It said the SP Government need to take notice that the Muslims has been fighting for justice all along and not compensations.

Rihai Manch welcomed Congress leader and Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma statement that NIA should investigate the murder of Khaled but maintained that Congress first must investigate the Batla House fake encounter.

Manch said that Muslim leaders from the SP and the Congress servile who had made it to the Rajya Sabha were undermining the movement for justice to Muslims, weakening their movement just to safeguard their Sabha memberships and said that Muslims should be wary of these so called religious heads and leaders who support parties like Congress and SP which kills Muslims in the name of politics.

Ishaaq, brother of Shakeel of Seetapur who was arrested a year ago on 13 May by the UP ATS and handed over to Delhi Crime Branch said it was a lie that there had been no illegal arrests during the SP regime.

Indefinite dharna called by Rihai Manch to protest the custodial death of Khalid Mujahid and demand the arrest of the IB and police officers involved completed its seventh day today.

Lucknow, May 28, 2013 /

Rihai Manch's indefinite fast against the arrest of innocent Muslim youth and its demand for their release and indictment of IB officials involved in illegal custodial deaths continued well into its seventh day and was joined by a student delegation from Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union which handed Rihai Manch a nine-point demand letter addressed to the Chief Minister.

The
false information planted about Khalid in the newspapers by IB shows its officials' restlessness at the prospect of going to jail and being brought to book for their deeds.

Jawaharlal Nehru Student General Secretary Shakeel Anjum said that killing of Khalid Mujahid was not an isolated incident and that such murders of innocent youth killed in the name of terrorism where taking place all over the country.  He added that the murders were the result of a planned fascist strategy by the Indian state, hence, all this anti-Muslim politics have to be dealt with by progressive and democratic organizations and to expose communal leaders like Mulayam Singh.

Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union Deputy Minister, Piyush Raj said by the way SP not only arrested innocent Muslim youths in the name of terrorism but turned back on its promise to release Khalid, killing him in custody proved that it was not a flag-bearer of protection of innocent Muslims but made it clear that the SP government is in reality communal.
Joining the JNU student union representatives was All India Students Federation's
Rahul and Sudhanshu who said that democracy in the country had come to such a situation that Irom Sharmila's battle to ban repressive black laws is still being fought a decade on, in the far northeast while
the people in Kashmir fight to protect the right to life given to them by the Indian Constitution proved the sorry state democracy is in, in India.

SDPI state chief Sharfuddin Ahmed said that after twenty-seven riots in a year and the murder of Khalid
should be enough for Muslims to understand the SP's RSS agenda disguised in the garb of
Lohiaite philosophy. He added that the SP government would have to face the consequences in the 2014 general elections.

Prominent journalist Ajay Singh  said that Khalid's murder was not just the killing of a Muslim but of the whole judicial process because former judge RD Nimesh's report shows that Tariq-Khalid's arrest was a fraud and the report also demands action against the guilty police officers. He added that the right Khalid was denied during his lifetime was now a responsibility to be taken up by the masses to uphold justice.

Kiran Singh of PWA, Pragya Pandey and Usha Rai also supported
Rihai Manch's indefinite dharna.

Rihai Manch appealed to people to join in greater numbers and contribute in the struggle for justice for Khalid.

Lucknow, May 27, 2013 /
The ongoing Rihai Manch indefinite dharna for the arrest of police officers and IB officials in connection with illegally detained Khalid Mujahid's murder completed its sixth day at Lucknow's Vidhan Sabha today. The organization denounced the so-called Ulema's role and hand-in-glove involvement with Akhilesh government's crime and their neglect of the condition of innocent Muslim youth imprisoned in the name of terrorism. Rihai Manch noted that the Ulema are conspicuous by their absence in the movement against the involvement of IB and police officers and demand for their arrest for the torture of imprisoned youth.

Manch condemned the Ulema's unabashed support  for compensation for Maulana Khalid's custodial death and misleading the masses' demand for justice in his case. Manch said the politics played in the name of compensation was shameful.

Rihai Manch made light of Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed Khalid's statement that the killing must be investigated. It said it was a  political gimmick and Congress should introspect on its role in the fake Batla
House
encounter of two innocent Azamgarh boys

Returning to the official gunner provided by the government to the Manch leaders, it said the only threat to it was the ATS and IB officials who fraudulently caught and killed Khalid, against whom even the Nimesh Commission report also demands action.

It said instead of providing them with security, the government should indict IB officials Vikram Singh, Brij Lal, Manoj Kumar Jha, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, S Anand involved in the murder of Khalid
from whom the whole society is unsafe, and fulfill its duty.

Former-MLA Ram Lal said protecting the guilty police officers proves SP's strategy of working internally with the BJP to contest the 2014 general elections.

Qaumi Ekta Dal General Secretary, Tariq Shamim said the so-called Islamic clerics sabotaging the case against the officials involved in the murder of Khalid, are defaming all Ulema.

He said that an impartial inquiry into the murder of Khalid would highlight the role of the IB in all terrorist acts and hence even the CBI is hesitant to probe the murder.

Fighting communalism for a long time, Adiyog, Alok Agnihotri and Ramakrishna said that  in the name of rapidly improving state law arrangements, the government was resorting to implicating and defaming the muslims and the disadvantaged sections of the society. They urged the Muslim communities to start questioning the state's politicians about the deteriorating conditions instead of offering explanations to crimes they did not commit. They said that if the common Muslim didn't take it upon himself to get out of this mesh and instead relied on what he called "paid Maulanas", they would be labelled as terrorists, pointing towards the soul-selling of the Maulanas working in tandem with the state politicians.

Addressing the dharna and reviving the spirits of the protesters, leaders from various districts of UP, Imrul Qureshi, Tayyab, Muhammad Aamir Usmani, Asif Akram said they'd win the fight for justice and will leave no stone unturned and were running the campaign at the national level.

Rihai Manch's indefinite dharna will be supported by Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union General Secretary Shakeel Anjum, including Deputy Piyush Raj.

The dharna was convened by Rihai Manch Azamgarh's incharge Masihuddin Sanjari. Dharna was addressed by Rihai Manch president Mohammad Shoeb, social worker Sandeep Pandey, Nelopa's Chandra Singh and Chaudhary, Chaudhary Meherbaan Ali, Shahzaade, Faizabad's Ahmed Ali, Aafaaq from Socialist Front, Shehzaade Masoor, Azamgarh's Dr Firoz Talat , Mohammad Omar, Osman Ali, Indian National League's Mohammad Shami, Tariq Shafiq, Hare Rama Misra, Ishaaq, IPF's Dinkar Kapoor, Mazhar Azad, Musanna, Shahnawaz Alam and Rajiv Yadav.
